Given Elon Musk’s position and influence, it’s clear that he enjoys acquiring things. The successful businessman has now set his sights on OpenAI, the company behind AI tools like ChatGPT. However, OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, gave a response that will likely stick in people’s minds for a long time.
OpenAI CEO Sam Atman made fun of Elon Musk
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, mocked Elon Musk Elon Musk is one of the founders of OpenAI, but he left the company in 2018, citing various reasons. Since then, his relationship with the artificial intelligence company has remained strained. The tension escalated to the point where Musk even sued the company. In fact, he even said that if ChatGPT were integrated into iPhones, he would ban the use of Apple products within his companies.

Believing that OpenAI was poorly managed, Musk made an offer to take control of the company for $97.4 billion. According to information shared by the Wall Street Journal, this offer was made through an investor group managed by Musk’s AI initiative, xAI.
OpenAI management rejected the offer outright. In fact, CEO Sam Altman took things to the next level by posting on Musk’s platform, X (formerly Twitter), saying, “No, thank you, but if you’d like, you can buy Twitter (X) for $9.74 billion,” poking fun at the businessman.
Elon Musk responded to Altman’s post by calling him a “scammer.” It seems that the tension between the two parties will continue for a while.
What do you think about this situation? Do you think Musk could actually buy OpenAI?
