As Nvidia focuses on the production of its next-generation RTX 50 series graphics cards, it has started to signal that the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 models will soon be discontinued. In fact, this reminds us of similar situations that happened earlier with the RTX 30 series. So, some users might be disappointed soon.
Is the production of Nvidia RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 graphics cards stopping?
Currently, Nvidia is focused on the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 models, which are scheduled for January 30. In February, the RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti models will be released. But it’s also true that with the release of the next generation of graphics cards, production of the previous generation RTX 40 series is rapidly declining.

In particular, stock levels for the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 have already been depleted at some retailers. So, we are once again witnessing Nvidia’s policy of rapidly phasing out its previous products. While the RTX 3080 hasn’t been officially discontinued, it was nearly impossible to find when the RTX 40 series launched.
If the performance of the RTX 50 series doesn’t live up to expectations, fewer options for users could be a major disadvantage. If next-generation graphics cards are overpriced and stocks run out quickly, the older generation of affordable models may not be available as a “fallback option”.
In short, Nvidia’s manufacturing strategy, while enabling a rapid transition to new products, may bring problems for consumers, such as limited choice and possible price increases. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments below…
