Apple is preparing to introduce the iPhone 16 series in the coming days. The technology giant, which is on the agenda of the smartphone world every September, has already started preparations for next year. Important sources provide details about the iPhone 17.
iPhone 17 to have 12GB RAM and more advanced AI
With just days left until the iPhone 16 series, many details about next year’s plans have begun to emerge. It seems that there will be exciting developments in the iPhone 17 series for Apple lovers. In addition to the iPhone 17 Slim, which will be a first for Apple, artificial intelligence and increased RAM capacity also stand out.
According to a leaker known as “Phone Chip Expert” on Weibo, the iPhone 16 will be released this year with 8GB of memory and will deliver most of its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities via the cloud. However, the iPhone 17 , which is expected to be released in September 2024, will feature 12GB of RAM and advanced edge AI applications.
Looking at Apple’s development of its artificial intelligence platform, Apple Intelligence, it is predicted that the iPhone, which will be released in 2025, will be a pioneering device in terms of artificial intelligence. The iPhone 16 seems to be released without Apple Intelligence, as some features of this platform are currently only available in beta for developers running iOS 18.1. Meanwhile, many innovations such as Genmoji, the next-generation Siri that understands context, and advanced image creation features are not yet available.
Apple has confirmed that some Apple Intelligence features will be released later in 2025, likely indicating a broader platform launch during WWDC 2025. However, it remains unclear how long it will take for Apple to expand the platform to more languages and regions, so we may have to wait at least another year for the best Apple Intelligence features to be fully available.
The iPhone 17 looks set to provide customers with a significant advantage by offering more RAM and advanced AI capabilities for on-device AI processing. This shows that Apple is taking a more mature step in AI and is aiming to take the user experience to a new level.
