Ezee Fiber just got a whole lot bigger. The Houston-based fiber internet provider has announced its acquisition of Tachus Fiber Internet, marking a major move to strengthen its presence across Greater Houston and beyond.
Ezee Fiber acquisition brings in 60,000 new customers

Tachus, headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, runs a 100% underground fiber network and serves over 60,000 homes and businesses in the Houston metro. With the acquisition, Ezee Fiber will instantly boost its regional footprint and subscriber base while gaining a well-established customer service reputation.
Matt Marino, CEO of Ezee Fiber, praised Tachus for its strong performance, calling the deal a win for both companies and their customers. “Tachus has set the bar high with product quality and reliability,” Marino said. “Bringing our teams together lets us raise that bar even further.”
Ezee Fiber acquisition supports national growth plans
Backed by global infrastructure investor I Squared Capital, it has been on an aggressive expansion streak. In the past two years alone, it’s committed:
- $200 million for network growth in Houston
- $250 million for expansion in New Mexico
- $400 million to new builds in Washington State
The acquisition of Tachus adds to that momentum, helping Ezee hit more than 600,000 fiber passings across all three states by the end of 2025.
Why this Ezee Fiber acquisition matters
For I Squared Capital, the move reflects a broader push to scale up essential digital infrastructure across the U.S. “This combination creates a formidable regional competitor with national potential,” said Gautam Bhandari, I Squared’s Managing Partner.
The company is already eyeing further expansion into new markets in 2025.
Fiber competition heats up
With this acquisition, Ezee Fiber becomes a far stronger force in the rapidly growing broadband market. Its promise of multi-gig speeds, local service, and transparent pricing now reaches even more communities, and with national ambitions on the horizon, it’s clear this deal is just the beginning.
