Apple’s smartphones, headphones, computers, and other accessories are considered expensive by many people worldwide. This sentiment is not limited to Turkey but is a common view in many countries. Due to the lack of affordable options, people often resort to counterfeit products like fake iPhones.
However, counterfeit products pose various risks to consumers. These devices may contain security vulnerabilities and can lead to health issues due to low-quality materials. Nonetheless, there is a demand for these products.
Raid on Factory Producing Fake iPhones!
As demand increases, so does the number of manufacturers. Despite efforts by governments to prevent the production of counterfeit goods, detecting them can be challenging. Recently, multiple factories producing counterfeit Apple products were raided. However, contrary to expectations, these factories were not in China. Here are the details:
Police in Northern Ireland conducted raids on locations producing counterfeit Apple products in Belfast and Portadown cities within the United Kingdom borders on Thursday, March 28th. According to reports, more than 20,000 products were seized.
The seized counterfeit products included iPhones, AirPods, iPhone cases, as well as smartwatches, smartphones, and chargers from other brands. The total value of these items is reported to be $750,000.
According to a previous report, police in the Suining city of Sichuan province in China identified and raided a factory producing counterfeit Apple AirPods. The factory consisted of three production lines.
During the raid, counterfeit products estimated to be worth around 167 million yuan (23.5 million dollars) were seized. These products included over 69,000 AirPods, more than 45,000 semi-finished products, 4 sets of counterfeiting tools, over 50,000 packaging materials, and over 10,000 spare parts.
