League of Legends players were stunned by the price of three different bundles Riot Games offered for famous esports player Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok. The package, which includes an Ahri skin signed by Faker, costs almost 60,000 RP. You’ll be stunned when you see the price in dollars.
Riot caused controversy on social media with its $450-worth League of Legends skin pack for Faker
Riot Games has launched three different bundles to honor Faker’s achievements in League of Legends history and contributions to the esports world. The first package, Risen Legend Collection, offers a range of exclusive content for 430 RP ($40). This includes a Hall of Legends pass, Takedown Counter Taunt, an icon, a emote, a banner, and an exclusive Ahri skin.
The second pack, Immortalized Legend Collection, includes all the content from the first pack plus extra features such as special costume transformations, ending animations, and the Immortalized Ahri costume. This package is worth 32,430 RP ($250).
However, the bundle that has received the most attention and backlash is the Signature Immortalized Legend Collection, which costs RP 59,260 ($450). This pack includes all the content from the previous two packs plus a Faker-themed signature gesture, a special border, banner, 100 pass levels, the Final Boss Faker title, and additional content.
Fans reacted quickly and largely negatively to the high price tag on social media. Riot Games responded to the pricing criticism in an FAQ on its official site. Riot Games stated that these special packs are for those who want to show off their fandom and include features that have never been implemented before.
These special packs, which will be available between June 12 and July 8 as part of League of Legends’ Hall of Legends event, are designed for players who want to show their admiration for Faker, but their prices have been the subject of great controversy.
