Netflix revealed that the budget it provided to director Carl Rinsch for the science fiction series ‘Conquest’ was spent out of purpose. According to the company’s statements, Rinsch directed the multi-million dollar budget he received for the project to his personal expenses and invested a significant portion of it in Dogecoin.
Carl Rinsch invested the budget he received from Netflix in Dogecoin
It was learnt that Rinsch was in talks with major producers such as HBO and Amazon to shoot the series called ‘Conquest’, but in the end Netflix financed the project. The company reported that it paid Rinsch a total of 55 million dollars for the filming of the series, but despite this budget, no episode was completed.

The investigation revealed that Rinsch directed the budget he received to luxury spending. It was determined that five Rolls-Royce and various luxury items were purchased with the funds provided by Netflix, and most of the remaining money was invested in Dogecoin. During this period, it was also recorded that Rinsch claimed that he had solved the propagation method of Covid-19 and could calculate the points where lightning would strike.
Netflix cancelled the project after realising that the budget was misused. In the investigations, it was confirmed that approximately $ 11 million of the allocated budget was lost and a large part of this money was invested in Dogecoin.
The FBI, which conducted the investigation, filed a lawsuit against Carl Rinsch for theft. Rinsch was arrested yesterday and the legal process initiated against him continues. It is rumoured that if he is found guilty, he could be sentenced to many years in federal prison. So what do you think about this issue?
