Redbull has emerged with its new hypercar, the RB17, aiming to dominate the Formula 1 world for several years. Designed by one of Red Bull’s foremost engineers, Adrian Newey, the car boasts a top speed of 350 km/h. Here are the visuals and details of the car…
Redbull RB17 will be sold for 5 million sterlin
The RB17, unveiled at the 2024 Goodwood Speed Festival, stands out with its 1184 horsepower V10 engine. This exclusive vehicle, of which only 50 units will be produced, is considered Newey’s last major project at Red Bull. The legendary engineer stated that this car is capable of setting lap times faster than Formula 1 cars…
The RB17 project began while developing Max Verstappen’s first World Championship-winning F1 car in 2021. Serving as a spiritual successor to the Aston Martin Valkyrie, the RB17 is purely track-focused rather than road-oriented. Newey outlined three primary goals for the project in an interview with Autocar: “To look fantastic, sound incredible, and provide enjoyment and development opportunities for drivers of all levels.”
RB17 Technical Specifications:
- Maximum speed above 217 mph
- V10 engine developed by Cosworth
- Active aerodynamics and suspension systems
- Carbon fiber chassis and Red Bull-designed transmission
- V10 engine capable of revving up to 15,000 rpm, producing 986 horsepower
- 197 horsepower electric motor support
- Weighs 805 kg in its lightest configuration
According to Red Bull’s announcement, 50 RB17s will be manufactured over a two-year period, offering customers exclusive track days and events. Although the car does not conform to any existing racing series, it complies with LMH motorsport safety protocols.
Engineer Newey noted that the car is currently not suitable for road driving but hinted at potential adaptations in the future. Overall, the RB17 stands as a true collector’s item.
