Chinese smartphone manufacturer iQOO has begun preparations for its new flagship model. Expected to launch in Q4 2025, this upcoming device will boast impressive specifications. However, the most surprising detail about the iQOO 15 Pro is its model number. As you may know, iQOO’s last release was the iQOO 13. Now, instead of an iQOO 14, the company is skipping directly to iQOO 15.
Why iQOO 15 and Not 14?
iQOO, known for its budget-friendly smartphones and BMW-themed models, is set to bring back the Pro variant with the iQOO 15 series. But why skip the number 14?
In many Asian cultures, especially in China, the number 4 is considered unlucky. Due to this superstition, many Chinese smartphone manufacturers have previously avoided using the number 4 in their model names. While other Chinese brands continued to use 14, iQOO seems to be following a different approach by jumping directly to 15.

Leaked Specifications of iQOO 15 Pro
The first leaked details about the iQOO 15 Pro have now surfaced. The device is expected to feature:
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (expected to launch in October 2025)
- Display: 2K flat OLED panel with ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
- Battery: Massive 7000mAh capacity
- Charging: Expected to support at least 120W fast charging
- Camera: Likely to feature a periscope zoom lens
The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will likely be revealed in Q3 or Q4 2025, and the iQOO 15 Pro is expected to be among the first phones to use it.
The periscope zoom camera remains unconfirmed, but past iQOO Pro models have included this feature, making it a strong possibility for the iQOO 15 Pro.
