The competition in the foldable phone segment continues to heat up, especially on the Android side. Following the recent announcement of Huawei’s triple-foldable phone, several brands have started developing similar screen technologies. Vivo is one of the companies producing foldable phones, and the specifications of the expected vivo X Fold 4, set to launch in the first quarter of 2025, have now leaked. Here are the details…
vivo X Fold 4 to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Processor
Recent information shared by popular leaker Digital Chat Station reveals new foldable phones developed by OPPO and vivo. It is reported that OPPO is working on the Find N5, which is a rebranded version of the OnePlus Open 2 model, while vivo is also said to be developing the X Fold 4.
The company announced the X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro models for the Chinese market back in April, and it seems they have already started working on the next iteration. Vivo used Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Gen 3 processors for the X Fold 3 series, and it will opt for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor for the X Fold 4.
Although the leaks do not specify the name yet, looking at the codename and features strengthens the possibility of it being the X Fold 4. The expected foldable phone is said to be powered by a processor with the SM8750 code, which corresponds to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 we’ve seen before. The OPPO Find N5 may also be powered by the same processor.
The X Fold 4 will feature a round camera design housing three cameras, expected to include a 50-megapixel main camera and a single periscope camera. Additionally, the device will come with a 6,000mAh battery and will support wireless charging.
