Automakers sometimes recall vehicles due to problems that are not noticeable during testing and production, but become apparent over time. Recently, Ford has recalled over 1.2 million cars due to brake hydraulic fluid leaks.
Ford recalls 1.2 million vehicles
The US-based Ford Motor Company has recalled Ford Fusion and Lincoln MTZ models produced between 2013-2018 due to brake hydraulic fluid leaks. This has caused approximately 1.2 million vehicle owners to rush to service centers for free maintenance.
Although these two models are not sold worldwide, we know that companies use many parts in different models. For example, Lotus Evora and Ford Focus use the same electric mirror switch, Aston Martin DB7 and Mazda Miata use the same interior door handles, Lamborghini Diablo and Nissan 300ZX use the same headlights, and Lamborghini Murcielago and Rover 45 use the same air conditioning controllers.
However, these are only the parts that users can see. When we look at the car’s engine and other technical components, we can see that the same turbo pipes, computer brains, pistons, and many other parts are commonly used. Therefore, although Fusion and MTZ models are not sold in all markets, we may hear about other models being recalled for the same reason soon.
Since 2018, Tesla has recalled 3.4 million cars
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Tesla will recall over 362,000 vehicles equipped with fully autonomous driving features. Of course, this has become a normal situation for Tesla owners.
Since 2018, a total of 3.4 million vehicles have been recalled. The vast majority of which were related to software problems. However, physical problems have also arisen in many areas from seat belts to airbag malfunctions and connections between the steering wheel and tires.
Of course, there are also simple problems that can be solved with a few screw changes. Nevertheless, it should be noted that Tesla holds the record for recalls. What do you think about this issue? Don’t forget to share your opinions in the comments!
