Mitsubishi has announced that it has begun official talks with Foxconn’s electric vehicle subsidiary Foxtron to develop a new electric crossover model. If an agreement is reached, the resulting model will carry the Mitsubishi logo, but the development and production processes will be carried out entirely by Foxtron.
Foxconn to develop electric vehicles for Mitsubishi
Foxtron operates as a joint venture between Taiwanese technology giant Foxconn and automaker Yulon. The planned electric crossover model with Mitsubishi will also be produced by Yulon.

It was announced that the model will initially be offered for sale only in the Australian and New Zealand markets. The vehicle, which is planned to go on sale in the second half of 2026, will be based on the Model B platform that Foxtron introduced in 2022.
Designed by Italian design firm Pininfarina, the Model B is 4.3 meters long and equipped with a 60 kWh battery pack. The platform, which can offer a range of over 500 kilometers according to China’s CLTC test cycle, has both rear-wheel drive single-motor and four-wheel drive dual-motor versions.
Mitsubishi’s strategy of marketing other manufacturers’ models under its own logo is not new. The Renault Clio-based Colt and Captur-based ASX models are already sold in the European market.
Although a final agreement has not yet been made, the potential collaboration between Mitsubishi and Foxtron could be an important step in the brand’s electric vehicle strategy. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
