Samsung is getting ready to add two new mid-range 5G phones to its lineup. The Galaxy F17 5G and Galaxy M17 5G have now appeared on Geekbench, giving us an early look at their processors, memory setups, and raw performance.
Galaxy F17 5G and Galaxy M17 5G share the same chipset

Leaks confirm that both models run on Samsung’s Exynos 1330, an eight-core processor built on the 5nm process. The chip balances efficiency with solid performance and comes with native 5G support. Paired with 8GB of RAM, it promises smooth day-to-day usage and the speeds expected from a 2025 mid-range device.
Different results despite identical hardware
Even though the two phones share the same core specs, their Geekbench scores show a clear difference. The Galaxy F17 5G outscored its sibling in both single-core and multi-core tests, while the Galaxy M17 5G trailed behind.
Here are the benchmark numbers:
- Galaxy F17 5G → 975 (single-core), 2,242 (multi-core)
- Galaxy M17 5G → 762 (single-core), 1,596 (multi-core)
Why the Galaxy M17 5G lags behind
This gap doesn’t necessarily mean the M17 will be slower in its final version. Since both devices are still in the testing stage, the performance may not yet reflect the finished hardware and software optimizations. Samsung typically refines its devices before launch, so more balanced results are expected once the retail units ship.
What to expect from Samsung’s next mid-rangers
With large batteries and Samsung’s polished One UI on top of Android, both the Galaxy F17 5G and M17 5G are shaping up as reliable mid-tier options. Their performance, while different in benchmarks today, will likely align more closely when they officially launch.
For now, the Geekbench listings confirm what many expected: Samsung is bringing its latest Exynos 1330 chip to more affordable 5G phones, aiming to deliver speed without premium prices.
