Samsung is set to revolutionize audio control with the Galaxy S26 Audio Eraser feature, which is receiving a massive upgrade with the new One UI 8.5. This innovative, AI-powered tool will now extend its capabilities beyond the gallery, offering real-time noise cancellation for third-party applications, a significant leap from its initial version.
How the Galaxy S26 Audio Eraser Enhances Live Streaming
Previously, the Audio Eraser tool was limited to cleaning up unwanted background sounds from videos already saved in the device’s Gallery app. While this was useful for post-production, the new update transforms it into a real-time utility. With the Galaxy S26 series, the enhanced Audio Eraser can now remove background noise directly from live streams in third-party apps.

This development turns Audio Eraser from a simple editing tool into a practical feature for daily content consumption. According to Samsung, this new functionality supports popular applications such as YouTube, Netflix, and Instagram, allowing users to enjoy clearer audio during any live broadcast. Activating the feature is designed to be seamless; users can simply swipe down the quick settings panel and tap the Audio Eraser button, much like the existing Live Caption feature. This integration means you can instantly clean up audio without ever leaving the streaming app.
Wide Processor Support for the New Feature
There is also good news regarding hardware compatibility. The original Audio Eraser, initially exclusive to Snapdragon chips, was later expanded to Exynos devices through One UI updates. Thankfully, Samsung is continuing this approach. The new and advanced Audio Eraser tool will not be exclusive to Snapdragon processors.

This means that the Galaxy S26 and S26+ models, which are expected to ship with the Exynos 2600 chip in most regions, will fully support this feature. Meanwhile, the high-end Galaxy S26 Ultra model is slated to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite 5 chip across all regions, ensuring all variants of the new flagship line will benefit from this powerful AI tool.
