Samsung has already begun working hard on its highly anticipated new flagship phone. According to the latest information, the price of the Galaxy S26 has become the company’s biggest headache due to rising component costs. The additional burden brought by the new generation processor, in particular, could directly impact the price tag.
Why Might the Galaxy S26 Price Increase?
The main reason behind Samsung’s challenging pricing strategy is Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. According to leaks from the industry, this new processor will have a much higher cost than expected. This directly affects Samsung, as it does all manufacturers who want to use this processor in their phones.

The increased costs leave the company with two difficult options: either pass this cost increase directly on to the consumer and sell the S26 series at a higher price, or sacrifice profit margins. However, given global economic conditions, the second option seems unlikely.
At this point, Samsung’s biggest trump card is its own Exynos processors. The company may consider switching entirely to Exynos processors in the Galaxy S26 series to reduce costs and prevent price increases. This was a strategy previously implemented in some regions.
However, Snapdragon processors are generally preferred by users for their performance and efficiency. Samsung risking sacrificing performance to keep the price stable could damage the brand’s flagship image. The company will have to make this critical decision in the coming months.
