Samsung, a leading name in the smartphone market, continues preparations for its new flagship series. However, recent reports indicate a development that will upset users. The Galaxy S26 price increase seems inevitable.
Why is the Galaxy S26 price increase?
According to information from South Korea, the primary reason for this increase is rising component costs. Chipset prices are expected to increase by 12%, camera modules by 8%, and mobile DRAM by 16%. Prioritizing high-bandwidth memory production, particularly for AI chips, is creating a shortage of memory supply and driving up prices.

To offset this cost increase, the company plans to prioritize its in-house developed Exynos 2600 processor. By using its own chip instead of Qualcomm’s expensive Snapdragon processors, it aims to reduce production costs. However, despite this, the price increase may not be preventable.
While no official announcement has been made yet, the general expectation in the industry is for an increase of between $50 and $100. The fact that Apple and other Chinese manufacturers are also following similar pricing policies suggests this increase is inevitable.
