Samsung has released the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy Watch 8 Ultra. The new software package stands out with both radical changes to the user interface and new features for health and exercise.
New update released for the Galaxy Watch Ultra
One UI 8 offers richer customization options for watch faces. New visual details and smoother transition effects integrated into the watch faces make the overall user experience more dynamic.
With improvements to the tile system, more information can be added to a single screen. This allows users to access more data with less scrolling. The app launcher can be used in both list view and vertical grid format, with the most frequently used apps automatically listed at the top.
A new system called the Now Bar has also been integrated into the devices with the software update. This feature allows users to track tasks such as active workouts, timers, and stopwatches from a single panel. The watch’s battery icon and charging animations have also been redesigned in line with the updated visual language.
Notifications feature both visual and functional improvements. Multiple notifications from the same app are now displayed in groups. Furthermore, the system prevents unnecessary alerts by not sending notifications to the watch when focused on the phone.
The update also attracts users’ attention with four new health features. The Antioxidant Index helps assess oxidative stress levels in the body. The Bedtime Guide offers suggestions for adjusting sleep times.
The Running Coach feature can guide running workouts in real time. A new health metric called Vascular Load measures the stress on the cardiovascular system. However, these four new features will not be available for the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
The One UI 8 Watch update is expected to be available for other Galaxy Watch models soon. This update, released for Galaxy Watch 8 Ultra owners, demonstrates Samsung’s continued support of software in the wearable technology space.
