The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 has been the subject of numerous leaks in recent weeks. The latest images of a transparent case for the foldable phone have surfaced, providing insight into the design changes we can expect for the upcoming device.
Well-known tipster @UniverseIce (via SamMobile) shared these images, which offer a clear view of the cutout for the cover screen. As anticipated, the cover screen will be larger this time, featuring a folder-like shape.
Enhanced features and design
We can also see cutouts for two rear cameras and an LED flash. The case configuration suggests a USB-C charging port and a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power key on the side.
In addition to the transparent case, images of silicone cases for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 have emerged in various colors, including white, yellow, blue, green, and gray. The leaked images showcase the device’s flat edges and improved hinge. While the overall design will not differ drastically from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, the larger cover display is a notable change.
These case images align with previous rumors and leaks surrounding the phone. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 are both rumored to launch at the end of July.
A more versatile flip
The larger cover screen on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is a welcome enhancement. As per earlier reports, Samsung has developed a series of widgets to utilize the extra screen space.
Users can expect weather information, calendar appointments, and battery levels for connected devices on the cover screen. The interactive display will also allow swiping through screens and accessing information from incoming notifications.
While the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s cover screen offered quick, at-a-glance information, the new, larger display (increasing from 1.9 inches to 3.4 inches) and improved resolution (from 260 x 512 pixels to 720 x 748 pixels) will provide a more comprehensive user experience.
If Samsung can capitalize on the new and improved cover display, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 may steal the spotlight from the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Nonetheless, we eagerly await the unveiling of both devices in the coming months.
