The first details about Samsung’s highly anticipated new foldable phone have begun to emerge. Leaked reports provide important clues about the Galaxy Z Fold8’s camera features. While significant improvements are expected in the device’s rear camera setup, it is claimed that some sensors will remain the same.
What Will the Galaxy Z Fold8’s Camera Features Offer?
According to the information received, Samsung will retain the 200 MP main camera sensor used in the previous generation in the Galaxy Z Fold8. This high-resolution sensor has proven itself in taking detailed and sharp photos. However, the real innovations are in the auxiliary cameras.

There will be a significant improvement in the telephoto camera. The 10 MP sensor in the Fold7 model will be replaced by a new 12 MP telephoto camera capable of 3x optical zoom. However, the biggest leap will be in the ultra-wide-angle camera. According to claims, Samsung will integrate the 50 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, which it will use in the Galaxy S25 Ultra model, into the Fold8 as well. This represents a significant improvement in quality compared to the 12MP sensor in the Fold7.
Despite these exciting improvements in the rear camera setup, no changes are expected in the selfie cameras. According to leaks, both the cover screen and the inner screen selfie cameras, all with 10MP resolution, will be retained in the new model. This could be disappointing for some users who prioritize selfies and video calls.
