HBO has announced the leads of The Hedge Knight, a new spinoff series set in the Game of Thrones universe. Following Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, this series will be the third production in George R.R. Martin’s fictional universe and will take place a hundred years before Game of Thrones.

Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell will star in the roles of Dunk and Egg, it was announced today.
According to HBO, the series will tell the story of the young and brave knight Ser Duncan the Tall (Claffey) and his butler Egg (Ansell). The story is set in a time when the Targaryen dynasty is still on the Iron Throne and the last dragon still exists.
The Hedge Knight is the first novel in George R.R. Martin’s Song of Fire and Ice series and Martin’s first foray into this fictional universe. The series follows characters and events different from its main characters.
Claffey and Ansell, the leads of the series, have previously starred in popular productions. Claffey is a former professional rugby player who has appeared in Bad Sisters and Wreck. Ansell has previously appeared in The Midwich Cuckoos and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
