George R.R. Martin, the creator of the Game of Thrones series, has made a new statement about the highly anticipated next book in the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series titled ‘Winds of Winter’. As expected, the book is still not completed, and the renowned author seems to be frustrating fans a little more with each new statement.
Martin mentioned in a recent blog post that when he visited Harper Collins Voyager publishers in London in 2023, people assumed the book was almost finished and that an announcement about the release date would be made. However, Martin clarified that this was not the case and that there are still hundreds of pages left to write.
The author emphasized that he travels for various speaking engagements and events worldwide, planning face-to-face meetings with publishers, editors, and agents. He stated that while he enjoys communication over Zoom and email, he prefers face-to-face conversations.
Regarding the long-awaited new book in the series, Martin admitted there are still hundreds of pages he needs to write to complete it. He also mentioned that when the work is finished, there won’t be leaks but rather a major announcement will be made. Martin added that he cannot say when the book will be finished.
