Aspyr has confirmed that Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles will be re-released for consoles and PC next year. The PlayStation 1 classic, originally launched in 2000, will finally arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on January 23, 2025. Here are the details…
Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles is Coming Back with a Remastered Version!
In the original game released in 2000, depending on the version, there were five playable characters and up to four unlockable characters. Now, in the remastered version, players will have a robust roster of 13 characters to choose from, including Ishi Tib and Weequay.
All characters and hidden levels will be unlocked from the start, and the local co-op feature from the original will also be available in the remastered version. Aspyr has also confirmed improvements in gameplay and character models, along with better menu navigation, more balance, and new visuals.
The Versus and Training modes, previously exclusive to the Dreamcast version, will now be available on all platforms. Additionally, the remastered version will feature an unprecedented option to choose the color of your lightsaber.
Interestingly, in the original version, some characters had the wrong lightsaber colors. However, this will be corrected in the new version. For example, Mace Windu originally used a blue lightsaber in the game, but now players will be able to choose his iconic purple lightsaber as well.
