Contrary to last year’s rumors, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to launch globally with HyperOS 2.1. It seems that the software version installed on the new flagship will be the same as the one we saw on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra last week.
As we know, the global launch of the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra is just days away. Xiaomi has scheduled an event on March 2, just before MWC 2024 begins. The company’s CEO, Lei Jun, recently confirmed this news in a live broadcast.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra will come with the latest software version out of the box
Tech insider Yawn (@chunvn8888) revealed on X that Xiaomi’s new flagship will ship globally with HyperOS 2.1. This is likely the same version seen on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

However, the situation might be different for China. As always, Xiaomi is expected to prioritize its home market. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which is set to be announced in China in the coming days, is expected to come with HyperOS 2.2. Nonetheless, both launch dates will be significant milestones for the software rollout.
The launch event this Thursday could mark the beginning of HyperOS 2.2’s rollout to other Xiaomi devices in China. Similarly, the MWC launch could signal the arrival of HyperOS 2.1 for devices outside of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
Although there is no official confirmation regarding the release of HyperOS 2.2, a list of compatible devices has already started circulating. In addition to Xiaomi’s standard devices, the update is expected to support some foldable devices, tablets, and various Redmi models.
