Google is expanding Gemini, its ChatGPT-like artificial intelligence, to replace Google Assistant on Android devices, according to a new report. Previously, the company introduced Gemini on Android as an alternative to Google Assistant.
Gemini starts to be used instead of Google Assistant
It has been revealed that Google is planning to offer a toggle to use Gemini instead of Assistant on the Search app. Now reliable sources have said that a permanent switch from Google Assistant to Gemini is possible.
Gemini will replace Assistant as the primary and only artificial intelligence on Android. It was stated that users can access artificial intelligence through the app or Google app.
Currently, if a user has selected Gemini on Android, they will not see the request for permission to switch from Assistant. But for new Gemini users, the switch will completely replace one AI with another. This suggests that Assistant will take a back seat.
Google originally intended to introduce the ChatGPT competitor within the Google app. But it seems to be planning to introduce its AI assistant Gemini on its own. Gemini, which will be used instead of the assistant, will unlock more AI features on the device.
It remains unclear exactly when the Gemini experience will be available in the Google app for Android users. But for users who want to use Gemini alongside Assistant, the full replacement could be disappointing.
