Google Drive is taking over YouTube’s beloved feature

Google Drive is getting a feature that's been available on YouTube for a long time. So how will the new feature work? Here are the details!

The cloud-based platform has introduced a significant innovation by bringing a popular feature from YouTube to its own infrastructure. Now, when users hover their mouse cursor over the progress bar of a video, they will be able to see thumbnail previews of those moments. This will make it easier to quickly find the desired part of the video.

This feature, well known to YouTube users, provides great convenience when searching for specific scenes in long videos. For example, there will no longer be a need to fast-forward randomly to find the exact minute a presentation or event starts. Google Drive users will no longer waste time trying to catch the right moment.

According to an announcement from Google, this new feature not only aims to make the video watching process more efficient but also to increase productivity. Currently, the feature works only through web browsers and applies only to newly uploaded videos. It will not be enabled for previously uploaded content.

The thumbnail preview function has started rolling out to Google Drive users as of today. However, as with every new update, it may take a few days to reach all accounts.
