Google has added a new AI-based feature to the Meet application. Thus, users can now add personalized backgrounds instead of blurred backgrounds in meetings. This option, offered during video calls, allows users to show themselves in the atmosphere they want.

Google Meet has introduced the desired AI feature

The new feature can work on both desktop and Android devices. Users can change their backgrounds by clicking the “Apply visual effects” option on the preparation screen before the meeting starts or during the call.

Thanks to the “Create background” option on the menu, a desired environment is described with text. Artificial intelligence also creates multiple visual backgrounds suitable for this command. Users can examine sample images and select the background they want.

However, the AI-based background creation feature is currently accessible through Google Workspace, Google One AI Premium or the Workspace Labs test program. On the Android side, devices with at least Android 9 are supported. Artificial intelligence-supported background creation has not yet been activated for iPhone users.
