With iOS 18, Apple finally broke its resistance and gave the green light to RCS support. Following Apple’s decision, a new update is coming to Google Messages that will enhance the messaging experience between Android and iOS users. With this new update, Apple and iOS users will enjoy a messaging experience that allows for the sending of higher quality, faster, and higher resolution media.
Google Messages is entering a new era with RCS support
The messaging experience known as RCS (Rich Communication Services) offers a much more effective and advanced experience compared to traditional SMS messaging. With RCS, it becomes possible to send high-resolution images and videos, voice messages, and share locations.
In addition to features like larger group chats, read and typing indicators similar to those in WhatsApp and Telegram, RCS also guarantees end-to-end encryption, ensuring that none of your data is shared with third-party applications.
In this context, after long resisting RCS support, Apple officially announced RCS support with iOS 18. By breaking its iMessage resistance, Apple paved the way for Google, leading to a new update for the Messages app.
In the latest released Google Messages app .apk code, lines were discovered that will enable group chats with Apple iOS 18 Beta 2 users. In this sense, soon both Android and iOS users will be able to engage in group chats with RCS.
