Tech giants have come together to address growing security concerns about artificial intelligence. Founded by 14 major companies, the Coalition for Secure Artificial Intelligence (CoSAI) includes companies such as Google, Microsoft and Nvidia. So what will CoSAI do?
14 companies come together for AI security
Giant companies such as Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, Amazon, Nvidia, IBM, PayPal, Cisco, Anthropic and Intel are joining forces for the secure development of artificial intelligence. CoSAI, organized by OASIS, will allow the design and development of secure artificial intelligence systems.
Aiming to be an open-source community, CoSAI will be a space where AI-related methods, frameworks and tools can be freely shared. According to the statement, the coalition will be governed by a council responsible for driving the overall agenda of AI.
Among the specific topics that CoSAI will address will be AI model theft and data security. In this context, the misuse and attacks of artificial intelligence will also be addressed. According to the statement, if these threats are not mitigated, the integrity and reliability of AI could be at stake.
Google Vice President of Security Heather Adkins said that artificial intelligence has great potential. But it also brings risks if it is not developed in a “safe and responsible” way.
The industry-wide group will closely follow developments in the field of artificial intelligence. In this context, it will investigate issues related to artificial intelligence security.
