Google has added the Pixel Buds 2a, the latest addition to its A Series of earbuds, to its new product line, unveiled at the Made by Google event. These new wireless earbuds are lighter and offer advanced features compared to previous models.

Google Pixel Buds 2a is coming

Pixel Buds 2a are inspired by the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and are designed with over 45 million ear scans to ensure comfortable wear all day long. The earbuds are rated IP54 for sweat and water resistance, while the charging case is IPX4.

Regarding audio and connectivity, the earbuds feature Bluetooth 5.4 and Super Wideband support. One of the most important innovations is Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a first for the A Series, enhanced by Silent Seal 1.5 technology.

Transparency mode is also available for those who prefer to hear outside sounds. 11mm dynamic drivers and a five-band equalizer provide a customizable audio experience. During calls, a special wind-blocking mesh and Google AI reduce background noise, clarifying conversations.

The earbuds are powered by the Tensor A1 chip, delivering premium sound quality, rapid noise adaptation, and support for Gemini, powered by Google’s AI features. They offer up to 7 hours of music playback with ANC on and 20 hours with the charging case. A quick 5-minute charge provides an additional 1 hour of playback.

Smart features include voice interaction with Gemini. Users can ask Gemini to read emails, give directions, or perform other voice-activated tasks. Touch controls on the earbuds allow for easy playback, including playing, pausing, skipping tracks, and switching between ANC and Transparency modes. Other innovations include seamless pairing with Pixel phones, multi-device support, and the Find Hub feature, which helps locate lost earbuds.

Sustainability has also been a key focus for Google. The Pixel Buds 2a are made from recycled materials and come in completely plastic-free packaging. The earbuds are made from 41 percent recycled materials, while the rare earth elements in their magnets and the cobalt in their batteries are all recycled. The charging case’s battery is also designed to be replaceable.

The Google Pixel Buds 2a, available in Hazel and Iris colors, are priced at $129 in the US. The earbuds will go on sale in India and other global markets in October. There’s no word on whether they will be officially available in Turkey.
