Today, Google announced some improvements and updates to Google Messages for Android. While the company releases a lot of upgrades for its applications and devices, the tech giant released new features to its Messages app. There are a lot of features including, Voice Message Transcription, reminders, and more. Here are the details about Google Messages.
Voice Message Transcription will be available on Google Messages
Google uses Rich Communication Service (RCS) unlike Apple. The service allows users to send longer messages, send and receive higher-quality video, receive read receipts, and feel secure with end-to-end encryption. Now, there are other useful features in Google Messages app with the new announcements.
One of the most effective features is Voice Message Transcription. The feature will auto-transcribe voice messages that you receive. It will be useful if you don’t want to listen or you’re in a situation where you cannot listen. Google announced, “Say you’re in a crowded space and get an audio message from a loved one: transcripts will let you “view” the audio like you would a traditional text message.” According to the company, this feature will be available on the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro Pixel 6A, Samsung Galaxy Fold 4, and Galaxy S22 series.
Additionally, users will soon be able to respond to an individual message in a conversation if the RCS is enabled. Thanks to this features, users will be able to respond to SMS Texts from iPhone users with an emotional reaction.
While there are also other upgrades, Google also updated the Google Messages app, Phone, and Contacts apps. According to the company, the new icons will be more recognizable. Some of the other features are Reminder, YouTube videos inside the Messages app, and business chat. The features will soon be available.
