Google announced that it has made Gemini Live, its artificial intelligence chatbot, free for Android users. Gemini Live, which was previously accessible with the Gemini Advanced subscription, can now be used by everyone through the application.
Gemini Live is free for Android
Gemini Live, first announced in recent months, allows users to enter voice chats with artificial intelligence. The company’s latest move opens the voice bot to Android users. With this step, Google is now ahead of ChatGPT’s Voice Mode, which is currently paid.
Although ChatGPT’s voice feature is planned to be offered to a wider audience in the future, it is unclear when it will be free. Both Gemini Live and ChatGPT Voice Mode aim for a more visually efficient chat experience using the phone camera.
Currently, the Gemini app is only available for Android devices. After activation through the application, a screen opens with the Hold and End buttons. In this section you can chat with Gemini. However, it should be noted that it only supports English in the first phase.
If you want to use the app on your device, you can follow these steps:
- Update the Google Gemini app on your phone.
- Sign in to your Google account.
- Open the Gemini app.
- Click on the AI Voice button in the bottom right corner.
- When you see the Gemini Live screen, you can perform voice chat by clicking the Start button.
iPhone users will have to wait for the revamped Siri assistant that will be available with iOS 18. However, this feature will only be available on iPhone 16 and 15 Pro models at first.
