Corning has introduced its new protection technology for smart devices, Gorilla Glass Ceramic. According to the company’s statements, this glass will offer much more durable protection against drops than previous generation solutions.
Gorilla Glass Ceramic has been officially introduced
Corning states that Gorilla Glass Ceramic did not break despite being dropped from a height of one meter 10 times in a row onto a rough surface such as asphalt in laboratory tests. As its name suggests, the new glass will have a structure reinforced with ceramic materials to increase durability.

Compared to Victus 2, which Corning previously launched, Gorilla Glass Ceramic provides superior durability even in more difficult conditions. While Victus 2 is durable in drops made on surfaces flatter than asphalt, Gorilla Glass Ceramic exhibits the same performance even on rough and hard surfaces.
We can say that this new product is not only a technological advancement, but also a continuation of the protection trend in smart devices. Corning previously developed Ceramic Shield for Apple and launched Gorilla Armor 2 for Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series.
Similarly, other manufacturers are also working on ceramic-based protection technologies. For example, the HONOR Magic 7 Pro comes with a technology called NanoCrystal Shield.
Corning has announced that Gorilla Glass Ceramic will be used in a Motorola device in the coming months. However, it is not yet clear whether this device will be a phone or a tablet. So what do you think about this? You can share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
