Rockstar Games’ long-awaited game, Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), is set to be released in Fall 2025. This highly anticipated title is not only crucial for Rockstar and Take-Two, but it could also play a critical role in the success of Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro.
GTA 6 Could Determine the Fate of the PS5 Pro!
According to Take-Two’s financial projections, the release of GTA 6 at the end of 2025 is expected to bring a significant revenue boost to the company.
Since its release in 2013, GTA V has sold over 200 million copies, and Rockstar Games aims to break more records with the new game. Given the global popularity and massive fanbase of the GTA series, the chances of GTA 6 being anything less than a success are slim.
Just as seen in previous games, Rockstar is known for integrating the latest technology into its titles. Red Dead Redemption 2, for example, is still considered one of the most technically advanced open-world games since its 2018 release. Similarly, GTA 6 is expected to push the boundaries of performance, appealing to gamers who prefer more powerful consoles.
Sony’s $700 PlayStation 5 Pro might be the most attractive option for players who want to experience GTA 6 at its best. While the PS5 Pro may not consistently reach 60 FPS, it’s expected to offer a performance mode with variable refresh rate (VRR) technology, delivering around 40-45 FPS. This would provide a much smoother experience compared to the 30 FPS on standard consoles.
It’s also highly likely that Sony will boost PS5 Pro sales with a special GTA 6 bundle. In fact, recent reports indicate that Sony has already secured the marketing rights for GTA 6 from Rockstar Games, making this partnership crucial for both companies.
