GTA 6 may not arrive until November 19, 2026, but the conversation around its PC release has already split the fanbase. A new theory from leaker Detective Seeds suggests that PC players may not have to wait as long as they did for GTA V. The catch? It’s just a theory, no insider info, just a strategic guess.
GTA 6 PC release may land sooner than expected
Rockstar famously delayed the PC launch of GTA V by over a year after its initial console debut. That move paid off sales surged on both platforms and allowed time for technical upgrades. Most fans expect Rockstar to repeat that playbook with GTA 6.
However, Detective Seeds believes otherwise. They suggest Rockstar could roll out a PC version within three to six months after the console launch, possibly by mid-2027. The reasoning? Console players get early access and Rockstar still captures a second wave of sales before the next-gen consoles hit in 2027–2028.
Not everyone’s convinced by the theory
Despite the logic, many fans remain skeptical. Critics of the early PC theory point out Rockstar’s history of using delayed PC releases to maximize console sales. They also note that the PC editions typically come with upgraded visuals and performance, which take time to optimize.
According to this group, it’s more realistic to expect the GTA 6 PC version in late 2027, if not alongside the launch of the PS6 and next-gen Xbox. That timeline mirrors what Rockstar did with both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Will Rockstar change its strategy?
At this point, it’s all speculation. While Detective Seeds has been right about some things before like the general timing of Trailer 2 they admit this is just an educated guess. And Rockstar hasn’t said a word about PC plans.
A day-one PC launch? Unlikely. A six-month delay? Maybe. A full year or more? Still the safest bet. Until Rockstar says otherwise, the GTA 6 PC release remains one of gaming’s biggest question marks and the fanbase is already drawing lines in the sand.
