Microsoft has announced that the long-awaited Halo: Combat Evolved remake, titled Halo: Campaign Evolved, will also be released on PlayStation 5. This historic development is part of Microsoft’s new vision, known as “Project Latitude.” As part of this strategy, the company aims to bring more of its games to competing platforms. This is being interpreted as a potentially disruptive move in the gaming world. Xbox CEO Phil Spencer previously hinted at this shift with the slogan, “This is Halo for everyone.”

“We’re incredibly excited to bring Halo to those who haven’t had the chance to play it in the past,” executive producer Damon Conn said in the announcement. Conn stated that Halo’s foundation is “connectivity,” saying, “We want to connect with a new generation of gamers on their preferred platforms and help them fall in love with Halo. We’re not trying to rewrite Halo’s legacy; we’re trying to immerse you in this world like never before. This is Halo for everyone.”
Halo isn’t the first Microsoft game to make this transition. Previously, titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded were also announced for other platforms. However, the arrival of a major franchise like Halo on PS5 has been recognized as one of the biggest shifts in the industry.
