Warner Bros Discovery has confirmed that a sequel to the open-world RPG Hogwarts Legacy is on the way. Company CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels stated in a recent interview that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is a key priority. Accordingly, he said that the game will be out in “a couple of years”.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 is a few years away
According to Warner Bros Discovery, Hogwarts Legacy 2 is likely to be released in 2026 to 2027. For comparison, Hogwarts Legacy was released in late 2023 after many delays. This means that there will be 3-4 years between the two games.
CFO Wiedenfels declined to give any details about the story or gameplay. According to him, Hogwarts Legacy 2 is still in “early development” at Avalanche Software. The developer said it will not share any expansions for the first game, focusing entirely on the new production.
Hogwarts Legacy did big business after its release, becoming one of the best-selling games of all time. In 2023, it reached number one in sales in the US. This great success led to the development of sequels.
On the other hand, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions was released. It deals with Quidditch, the popular wizarding sport of the Harry Potter world. Warner Bros. Games, which did not include this sport in Hogwart’s Legacy, will fulfill this need with the new game.
It was stated that users who match Warner Bros. Games and Harry Potter Fan Club accounts will receive special rewards. The producer also guaranteed that those who own Hogwarts Legacy will receive bonus content with Quidditch Champions.
