Honor might be gearing up to release a compact phone that doesn’t skimp on flagship hardware. A new leak hints at the Honor Magic 8 Mini, which could bring high-end specs to a body just 5 to 6 mm thick.
Magic 8 Mini may pack big specs into a small frame

The Magic 8 Mini hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but the leaks are piling up. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, a pre-production model features a 6.31-inch flat LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution suggesting flagship-level visuals in a slim and manageable size.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset is expected to power the phone, matching the processor used in the Vivo X300. Honor may equip the Magic 8 Mini with a 5,500mAh battery, although achieving such a slim profile might require trade-offs.
Camera specs still in flux
The tipster also hinted at a 200MP main sensor, but there’s a chance Honor could scale that back to a 50MP 1/1.5-inch sensor for balance. Either way, the phone is said to include a telephoto lens, which isn’t always a given in compact designs.
That combination could make the Magic 8 Mini a compelling option for mobile photography fans who prefer a smaller phone.
Honor Magic 8 Mini joins a growing list of compact flagships
While large phones still dominate the market, 2025 is shaping up to be a strong year for smaller premium devices. Competitors expected to launch soon include:
- Oppo Find X9s
- iQOO 15 Mini
- OnePlus 15T
- Vivo X300 (already out)
Among these, the Magic 8 Mini may be the thinnest, potentially setting it apart in both feel and design.
Release details still under wraps
Honor hasn’t confirmed the Magic 8 Mini yet, nor has it set a launch date. However, the company is pushing ahead with other releases, including the Honor 300 series, which goes live on November 24 in China. If the leaks prove accurate, the Magic 8 Mini could follow not long after bringing flagship power to one of the slimmest bodies yet.
