Digital Chat Station, a reliable source of leaks in the tech world, has shared new information that could stir up the phone market. According to the latest reports, Honor is working on a model that will use the next-generation MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset and boast a massive 10,000mAh battery. This development has the potential to disrupt industry standards.
Honor’s Massive 10,000mAh Battery
According to a post by DCS on Weibo, this ambitious Honor phone is currently being tested with a 10,000mAh battery. The fact that the device has reached the New Product Introduction (NPI) verification stage indicates that the project is not just a concept but is moving confidently towards mass production. Such a large battery could revolutionize the user experience, meaning a charge can last for days, even weeks, under standard usage. The device’s final name remains a mystery for now.
The powerhouse managing this massive battery will be MediaTek’s as-yet-unannounced Dimensity 8500 chipset. Rumors suggest the chipset’s key features include:
- Manufacturing Technology: Efficient 4nm process developed by TSMC.
- GPU: Mali-G720 graphics processing unit, promising a superior gaming experience.
- Performance: Impressive performance, expected to exceed 2 million points in AnTuTu benchmarks.
- The CPU architecture will remain similar to the previous-generation Dimensity 8400, but the GPU will be significantly improved, specifically targeting gaming enthusiasts.
Honor isn’t alone in this. Leaks suggest that major brands like Redmi and iQOO are also working on phones with the Dimensity 8500 processor. It’s even claimed that the Redmi Turbo 5 will be the first phone to launch with this chipset. This suggests that Honor’s massive battery phone could be introduced in China in December 2025 or January 2026, following the Redmi launch. Other potential models mentioned in the market include the Realme Neo 8 SE and the iQOO Z11 Turbo.
