Smartphone battery capacities are rapidly increasing. Since early 2024, models with 7,000 mAh batteries have become increasingly common, even in mid-range devices. It appears that soon, even 7,000 mAh phones will be considered standard.
Honor Reportedly Developing a 10,000 mAh Phone
Digital Chat Station, a well-known industry leaker, previously stated that some brands were testing 10,000 mAh batteries for mid-range phones set to launch in 2026. Chinese brands like realme were reportedly at the forefront of this development.

Traditionally, phones with large batteries tend to be thicker, but advancements in technology are starting to solve this issue. There’s talk that phones with a 10,000 mAh capacity could even be thinner than 8.5 mm. This would mean these devices could be thinner than many current phones with much smaller batteries.
According to new information shared today, the first model with this high-capacity battery has moved into the NPI (New Product Introduction) phase, meaning it has passed the early prototype stage. While the exact name of the model isn’t confirmed, reliable sources suggest it will be called the Honor Power 2.
As you may know, Honor launched its original Power model in April. The 8,000 mAh Qinghai Lake battery used in that series stood out with its high-silicon technology, containing over 10% silicon. The battery’s energy density is around 821 Wh/L. This allowed Honor to offer high capacity while keeping battery sizes in check. In short, the first phone with a 10,000 mAh battery could be the Honor Power 2, expected to launch in 2026.
