After parting ways with Huawei and continuing as an independent manufacturer, Honor has been steadily increasing its sales. The latest reports from Canalys reveal that the brand’s budget-friendly smartphone has outperformed the recently launched iPhone 16 Pro Max in sales.
Honor X50 Outshines iPhone 16 Pro Max in Sales
The Q3 2024 smartphone sales report by Canalys shows that the Honor X50 has surpassed Apple’s flagship iPhone 16 Pro Max in sales within China. The smartphone holds a 2.8% market share, ranking second, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max trails behind with a 2.1% share.
The primary factor behind this achievement is the significant price difference between the two devices. Priced at approximately $200 in China, the Honor X50 is nearly seven times cheaper than the iPhone 16 Pro Max. With features like the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, up to 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, and a 120 Hz refresh rate on a 1.5K AMOLED display, the Honor X50 managed to outperform all but one model—the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
