Launched 2 years ago, Valve’s portable handheld console Steam Deck has reached a worldwide popularity, even though it is not officially available for sale in our country. So how many games can Steam Deck run on Steam?

How many games can Steam Deck play: More than 14,000!

More than 14,000 games are compatible with Valve’s portable game console. According to SteamDB, the number of Steam Deck compatible games is currently 14,023.

Of these, 4,607 games have been stamped by Valve as “Works great on Deck out of the box”, while the remaining 9,416 are stamped as “Available”. This means that the user may need to make some manual adjustments for games that qualify as usable.

Valve is in the process of reviewing the entire Steam catalog. The company is subjecting each game to a four-point scoring system designed to indicate how smooth the experience will be when playing on Steam Deck.

The other two categories that games can fall into are “Unsupported”, meaning games that don’t work on Deck, and “Unknown”, meaning games that have not yet been checked out.

Valve requires a game to meet four criteria to be considered Steam Deck Verified:

– The game must provide full joystick support, use the appropriate joystick input icons, and automatically turn on the on-screen keyboard when needed.

– The game must support Steam Deck’s default resolution (1280×800 or 1280×720), have good default settings, and have readable text.

– The game should not show any compatibility warnings and, if it has a launcher, it should be controllable with the joystick.

– If running through Proton, the game and all media software must be supported by Proton. This includes a cheat protection system.
