Increasing competition in the field of technology, especially the expansion of the foldable phone market in recent years, has raised the importance of this trend. According to reports for the first quarter of 2024, a new leader has emerged in foldable phone sales. Here’s the list where Huawei brand is back on top in phone sales after years…
Samsung loses its leadership and declines!
The latest report on the sales of foldable phones in the first quarter of the year revealed a somewhat surprising situation. Samsung, which is often associated with Android phones, is experiencing a 42% decline, ranking towards the bottom of the list. Meanwhile, Huawei, whose access to Google services has been cut off by the US, has seen a 257% increase.
This increase is mainly attributed to sales in China. Following the introduction of the Mate X5 model last year, it attracted users with its 5G connectivity feature, propelling the Huawei brand to the top in the first quarter between foldable phone models. Huawei holds the first position in the foldable phone market share with 35%, while Samsung has a market share of 23%.
Ranked behind, Honor holds a 12% market share, while Motorola ranks fourth with an 11% share. Despite Huawei leading the shipments with a 257% growth, Motorola saw the largest increase with a 1473% growth.
Looking at foldable phone sales in the first quarter of 2024, it is observed that for the first time since 2021, foldable models like the Z Flip have surpassed traditional flip phones. However, Samsung, which gains momentum every year with its Galaxy Z Fold and Flip models, is predicted to potentially change this trend.
