Huawei is preparing to make an ambitious entry into the consumer VR market by introducing its next-generation virtual reality (VR) glasses developed as a rival to Apple’s Vision Pro at an event on October 22.
What will Huawei VR glasses offer?
Huawei aims to rival Apple Vision Pro by entering the VR market. The high-end VR headset will allegedly be unveiled on October 22. Although the company is keeping details about the device under wraps, recent leaks have revealed that it is being developed against Apple’s glasses.
According to former Meizu executive Li Nan, Huawei’s VR headset will use a 4K Sony micro-OLED display that matches the Vision Pro’s high resolution. It is also rumored to feature Huawei’s in-house developed Kirin chipset.
The most striking claim is that the glasses will be much lighter than the 600-gram Apple Vision Pro. According to this, the VR glasses may weigh only 350 grams.
Other expected features include lag-free motion controls and a difference in the interface experience. It is also likely that the glasses will offer battery life that will provide all-day use on a single charge.
Pricing is also expected to be below Apple. Huawei VR glasses are expected to be around 2 thousand dollars. Considering that Apple wants 3500 dollars for Vision Pro, this price seems quite ambitious.
