Luxeed, a joint venture between Chery and Huawei, has introduced its second electric model, the R7 SUV. Pre-orders for the R7 started last month and deliveries are expected in mid-October. Priced between 36 thousand and 48 thousand dollars, how good is the R7 SUV?
What does the Luxeed R7 SUV offer?
With a coupe-style roofline, the R7 offers a large interior volume with a length of 5 meters and a wheelbase of 2950 mm. According to Luxeed, the R7 is one of the most aerodynamic SUVs in its class and will rival the Tesla Model Y and BMW X6 with its advanced cornering control system and intelligent hill descent function.
The R7 offers different ranges with different battery options. The rear-wheel drive Pro version with 82 kWh battery offers a range of up to 667 km, while the Max versions with 82 or 100 kWh battery options can go up to 802 km. The Ultra version with dual motors and a 100 kWh battery has a range of 736 km.
Luxeed states that the R7 can add up to 400 km of range in just 15 minutes on the fast charger. The interior of the R7 can be personalized with four different color options. It has a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, 15.6-inch touchscreen, ventilated and massaging front seats, heated rear seats and rear entertainment screens.
The Huawei HarmonyOS-supported vehicle features MagLink wireless charging and a 17-speaker sound system. With its rich equipment, it will enter China’s luxury electric SUV market. Of course, it is uncertain when it will hit the global market.
