Huawei has launched its new smartwatch series, the Huawei Watch GT 6, in Turkey, after its launch last week. The series starts at 9,999 TL, while the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro starts at 15,999 TL. The new watches are particularly notable for their high-precision GPS technology and innovative features aimed at cyclists.
Huawei Watch GT 6 series launched
The Watch GT 6 series uses the company’s 3D combined positioning technology, called the HUAWEI Sunflower Positioning System. Huawei announced that this new system provides 20% more precise location determination than its predecessor.

This technology provides ultra-accurate route tracking, even in challenging conditions where satellite signals are weak, such as in dense urban centers or densely forested areas. This allows the watch to minimize deviations in activities like trail running and mountain biking, providing the most accurate distance and pace data.
Another highlight of the series is its comprehensive cycling tracking capability. Huawei is introducing the Virtual Bike Power feature, an industry first, that calculates a cyclist’s instantaneous power without the need for an external and expensive power meter.
The watch uses advanced algorithms to instantly analyze data such as speed, incline, rider, and bike weight, and displays the user’s generated power on the screen. This technology has made professional-level training analysis accessible, which previously required costly additional hardware. Furthermore, when paired with an external power meter, it also calculates FTP (Functional Threshold Power), which determines an athlete’s performance threshold.

Another critical health metric added to the watch is Heart Rate Variability (HRV). This metric aids training planning by providing data on the body’s recovery status and stress levels.
Furthermore, the watch also features CE-certified Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis, which provides professional reliability in cardiovascular health monitoring and can detect the risk of atrial fibrillation.
The Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro model, on the other hand, supports professional outdoor modes in addition to its basic features. It provides users with critical data, such as altitude trend, estimated time of arrival at checkpoints, and incline-adjusted pace, especially for trail runners. The Pro model also features detailed Golf and Ski modes.
High-density silicone batteries are used to extend battery life. The 46mm versions of the Watch GT 6 Pro and Watch GT 6 offer up to 21 days of use, while the 41mm version offers up to 14 days. Additionally, both models are 5 ATM and IP69 water resistant.
