Huge increase in in-game currencies from Riot Games!

Riot Games updates prices to take into account changes in exchange rates and local economies.

Riot Games has announced new regional pricing updates that will go into effect on September 18, 2024. The changes will affect the prices of virtual currencies for League of Legends, VALORANT, Legends of Runeterra, and other games. It was explained that the price adjustments were made due to fluctuations in exchange rates and changes in local economies. Here are the details…

Riot Games will be offering players extra bonus virtual currency in regions where prices will increase. For example, players who purchase the 2050 VP bundle in VALORANT will receive 2200 VP instead of 1900 VP. This promotion will start on September 4 and will continue until the price changes go into effect. Here are the amounts of the currency increases:

    Valorant map updates
    • VP prices increased by 15%
    • RP prices increased by 24%
    • Wild Rift prices increase by 24%
    • 63% increase in LoRA prices

It is worth noting that while there will be significant price increases in some regions, prices may decrease in others. For example, while prices for League of Legends PC and Teamfight Tactics will increase by 24% in Turkey, there will be no change in the US.

It is stated that this step was taken to prevent third parties from trying to profit from price imbalances in different regions. Here is the amount of increase made by countries, including Turkey:

    • Europe & MENA
      • Czech Republic: -9%
      • Norway (PC prices): +12%
      • Poland (PC prices): -6%
      • Romania (PC prices): +5%
      • Saudi Arabia: -5%
      • Türkiye: +63%
      • Ukraine: +64%
      • England: -9%
      • Unlisted countries: No change

Riot Games acknowledges that such changes are difficult for players, but says that in the long run these steps will create a fairer gaming environment. In addition to the price changes, it was announced that the amount of virtual currency received through gift cards and codes will also be updated.
