Following the recent massive recalls, Hyundai Motor has now taken action for its electric luxury model, the Genesis GV60. The company is recalling approximately 8,000 2023-2025 GV60 EVs due to a potential defect that could compromise driving safety. Details are below.
Hyundai Genesis GV60 Recall
This new announcement, which follows last week’s recall of nearly 600,000 Palisade, IONIQ 5, and IONIQ 6 vehicles, is of particular concern to owners of the 2023-2025 Genesis GV60.

The primary reason for the recall is that the molding on the upper windshield of the vehicle has the potential to peel off or even completely dislodge while driving. This issue isn’t just an aesthetic issue; affected owners may also experience a distinct wind noise or whistling sound from the upper windshield while driving.
Internal testing conducted by Hyundai has confirmed that the source of the problem was inadequate adhesive used by the supplier. Fortunately for consumer safety, no accidents or injuries have been reported to date related to this defect. However, Hyundai stated that it has recorded a total of 112 separate reports of slat separation between October 26, 2022, and August 8, 2025.
The company estimates that the issue has been permanently resolved in production, and that only an estimated 1 percent of the total 7,855 recalled Genesis GV60 EVs are affected by this defect. This recall covers nearly all Genesis GV60 models sold in the U.S. from 2023 through the first half of 2025, according to data from Cox Automotive.
Notification letters to affected Genesis GV60 owners are expected to be mailed on November 17, 2025.
