iCloud+ prices surge: Apple’s move rattles global market

In a move that’s caused a stir among users, Apple has boosted the cost of its iCloud storage in numerous regions worldwide. These areas include the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and South America.

Details of the price hike

Every Apple ID is entitled to 5GB of free cloud storage. However, users seeking additional space can upgrade to a paid iCloud+ storage subscription plan that offers options of 50GB, 200GB, or 2TB of storage. As per a report by 9to5Mac, this price hike indicates an increase of approximately 25 percent.

Here are the changes in prices:

Countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Tanzania, South Africa, Colombia, Peru, Brazil have also seen similar hikes. However, pricing in the United States, Canada, and the European Union remains unaffected.

What’s included in the plans

Paid iCloud+ storage plans come packed with features like iCloud Private Relay, Hide My Email, and Custom Email Domains. Despite the added benefits, the price hike is likely to influence the decisions of users contemplating an upgrade.
