Instagram introduces new features for ‘Stories’

One of the most noticeable innovations among these is a feature called ‘Reveal.’ With this feature, the content in your story appears blurred, prompting curious eyes to message you directly to see what it is. According to Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri, this innovation will elevate the interaction between stories and DMs to the next level on the platform.

Another new feature is ‘Frames,’ which brings the nostalgic Polaroid vibe to your photos. Shaking your phone to reveal your photo will be both nostalgic and fun. However, even Polaroid itself doesn’t recommend shaking photos; they advise keeping the photo away from bright light while the film develops. So, this small fun addition is both ironic and useful.

And of course, music lovers haven’t been forgotten. Instagram introduces a new template feature called ‘Add Yours Music,’ allowing you to add music to your stories. This feature allows you to select your music with questions like ‘what’s your favorite song from this album?’ or ‘if you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?’ Users can share their music tastes with their followers using these templates, making their stories more personal.
