Instagram has become a huge social media platform. The platform, which first appeared as an innocent photo album application, is now a completely different place with features from Snapchat and TikTok. According to the latest information, a new one is being added to the feature-stealing platforms.
Foursquare-like ‘place reporting’ feature coming to Instagram Notes
Instagram, as we said, copied the stories from Snapchat, the reels feature from TikTok and finally the direct Twitter platform rather than the feature and made an application called Threads. With that Threads, parent company Meta added a new feature to Instagram.
With this feature, users can see developer announcements in the chat section of Instagram and follow new updates to the platform from there. They can even receive messages directly from Instagram boss Adam Mosseri.
In a new announcement shared here, a new feature coming to Instagram was announced. You are all familiar with the Notes feature brought to the platform this year. In the Notes section, you can share the song you are listening to and write down what you are thinking as a bubble.
The new feature will take us directly back to the days of Foursquare: Instagram will now be able to report places in notes. The update announcement sent by Adam Mosseri reads exactly as follows:
“We’re testing a feature that will let people report places in Notes. People use Notes to share their thoughts, how they’re feeling, and the music they’re listening to. We want to make it easy to tell where you’re hanging out, visit places of inspiration, and more.
I’m very excited about this feature because sharing where I am in Notes is one of my favorite activities.”
Of course, previously you could write down where you were in Notes, but now you’ll be able to mark it as a bookmark. This could be especially useful for businesses. Instagram foodies, for example, can easily tag a favorite place in Notes for their followers to see.
Or an Instagram traveler can easily tag beautiful places they’ve visited so that others can see them too. Of course, this can also cause problems, as some fans have a tendency to follow people they admire.
